Engstrom’s remark: ‘If the basic law of pure practical reason is a fact in the sense just indicated, then showing that pure reason is practical must be a matter of drawing attention to this law, of directing thought to it in a way that clearly reveals its basis in reason and thereby puts us in a position to achieve a reflective (philosophical) recognition of it as given in us by reason’ [72, p. xlii].
